Obituary of Donald E Hammond

Donald Eugene "Gene" Hammond, age 87 of LaBelle, Florida passed away at home on July 15, 2023. Gene was born in Gauley Bridge, West Virginia on October 25, 1935, to the late Stanley and Phala Legg Hammond. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army. He retired from Delta Airlines in 1988 after 30 years of service in Miami. He moved to LaBelle, Florida, to his home on the river where he tended to his orange grove. Gene is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet, his children; Maxwell Scott and Barbara Lee. and his three grandchildren; Matthew, Mark, Dakotah. He was preceded in death by his parents; Stanley and Phala, and his two brothers; John and James. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Akin-Davis Funeral Home - LaBelle.
