Obituary of Thomas Edward Jones

Mr. Thomas Edward Jones, 89 of Hogansville, passed away Sunday. May 7, 2023, at his home.

Born March 14, 1934 in Lee County, Alabama, Mr. Jones was the son of the late Joseph Amzey Jones and Bammer Cordelia Noblin Jones. He was a longtime resident of the Clewiston, FL area where he worked for Griffin Brothers Sod Company for 30 years. A resident of Hogansville for the past 16 years, Mr. Jones was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, enjoyed farming and working outside.

Survivors include his wife, Daisy Jones of Hogansville; his children, Betty Faye Calvo of Tampa, FL, Tommy Edward Jones and his wife, Sandra, of Clewiston, FL, and Jeff Jones and his wife, Tanya, of Hogansville; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Schmidt; sister, Sara Chappell; and brothers, Jimmy Jones, William Jones, and Grady Jones.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville with Pastor Alan Kirk officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 until 11 Thursday morning.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clewiston, FL.
