Obituary of Judith Bure Lapp

Judith Ann Bure Lapp age 89 of LaBelle, Florida passed away on February 21, 2023 in LaBelle, Florida.

Judith Ann Bure was born on November 7, 1933, in Buffalo, New York. She grew up in Williamsville, a suburb of Buffalo. She was the fourth of five children. Her father was a truck mechanic and her mother was a homemaker.

After graduation from high school she enrolled in nursing school. She withdrew from nursing school after one year to take care of her mother who was battling ovarian cancer. When she was able to return to school she switched to the dental hygiene program and became licensed as a dental hygienist. She worked as a dental hygienist intermittently over a 34-year period, taking time off to be a mother and homemaker.

She married Roger Lapp on March 30, 1956. They were married for over 60 years until his death in 2016. They had two sons, Eric and Mark. Eric contracted encephalitis at the age of 4 months causing a convulsion that lasted for 30 minutes. He suffered massive brain damage rendering him profoundly mentally retarded and with epilepsy and cerebral palsy. Eric died in 2018.

Judy always considered her highest calling to serve the Lord by being a loving wife and mother, a prayer warrior, a servant at church, and a friend to all.--

Celebration of Judith's life will be held at 10:00 a.m,. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Carlson Memorial United Methodist Church where a vistation will be from 9:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will take place next to her husband and son in Hills of Rest Cemetery in Floral City, Florida.
