He was born Jan. 26, 1929 in Baxter, TN, son of the late George Monroe Sherrell and the late Alice Jane (Thomas) Sherrell. He was a resident of Clewiston since 1945. Robert worked as an electrician with U.S.S.C. for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife: Nellie Doris (Fletcher) Sherrell, sons: Lavonne Sherrell (Ann) and Tim Sherrell (Elizabeth) of Clewiston, brothers: Lloyd Sherrell of Baxter, TN, Billy Sherrell of Cookeville, TN, sisters: Mary Martin and Dorothy McCaleb of Baxter, TN and grandchildren: Luke Sherrell, Lori Sherrell, Tasha Cornelius, Joshua Sherrell, Stephanie Vinson, Andrew Sherrell and Tanya Sherrell. Funeral services were held Sat. January 2, 2010 , 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Clewiston with Dr. Todd Buck officiating. Interment followed in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clewiston.
