Obituary of Thelma N Smith

Thelma N Smith, age 87, of Spring Hill passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011 in Hudson, FL. Thelma was born May 21, 1924 in Glennville, GA. She is the daughter of the late Hardy P and the late Julia J (Moody) Tillman. In early 1940, Thelma met a handsome young service man and in 1944 she became Thelma Smith. Thelma and Gene were married for 37 years. She is survived by her daughter: Linda Miles of Spring Hill, FL; son: Carl (Jennifer) Smith of Jupiter, FL; one brother: Jerry (Louise) Tillman; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and by a large number of nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Curtis Smith in 1981. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011at 2 p.m. at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, LaBelle with Rev. Jerry Tillman officiating. Interment was at Fort Denaud Cemetery. .
