Obituary of Roy Early Taylor

Roy Early Taylor, age 90, of LaBelle died Sunday, August 28, 2011 in LaBelle. He was born May 14, 1921 in Ware County, GA, son of the late Joseph Early Taylor and Frankie Mae (Sweat) Taylor. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked for USSC for thirty-nine years and retired in 1986 as superintendent of the Eastern Division. He was a member of the Church of God-LaBelle. Survivors include his wife: Shirley Sue (Bishop) Taylor; sons: Joseph Myers (Doris) Taylor of Quincy, Rev. William Roy (Beth) Taylor, PhD of Charlotte, NC, daughters: Marlene (Robert) Peace of Montgomery, AL, Diane (Larry) Hingson of Bonita Springs, stepchildren, Paula (Danny) Selph of Orlando, Patty Louise (Jim) Eaton of Conroe, TX, Cheryl MacTammany of Lakeland, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren five step-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. The funeral service will be held Wed., August 31, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Church Of God-LaBelle with Rev. William Roy Taylor Ph.D. and Rev. F.T. Mason officiating. Interment followed in Ortona Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Church of God-LaBelle. Arrangements by: Akin-Davis Funeral Home-LaBelle .
