Please accept my condolences and some encouragement from God’s Word.
The Bible makes it clear that God did not originally intend for humans to die. Due to Adam and Eve’s action we have inherited sin and death. - Genesis 1:28; 2:15-17; 3:19; Romans 5:12.
All was not lost. Jesus Christ said: “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” - John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15.
Not long after saying this, Jesus resurrected a widow’s only son, later, a twelve-year-old girl, and Jesus’ own friend Lazarus. By his miracles, Jesus showed on a small scale what will take place on earth under God’s Kingdom. – Luke 7:11-17; 8:40-56; John 11:11-44.
When the enemy death strikes, grief can be much, but as we draw close to God the Bible promises that “he will sustain you.” - Psalm 55:22.
I do hope these words give some comfort.

Funny that Kevin would mention Max's strength. All six of us were mighty impressed. I remember the same thing. Thinking Max (and Philip) were the strongest men in the world. At the time, I think they both were. Also remembering another time, Max swimming off into the sunset west in the direction of Hawaii off the beach at Santa Monica. In California visiting with Marion and Cal and cousin Philip having a blast but mindful of Louisiana rules of deportment and safety. I remember how alarming it was to see him disappear over the horizon much to the consternation of several conferencing life guards. Only to return some time later ebullient as a child booming with the laughter of Neptune. What a display of a wonderful life. Memory can be a bit of a dim failing picture. This one was in technicolor and surround sound! We remember the dead best by living and keeping up with Max will be a pleasure. xoalways to Sandra, Family, Kids, Vizards, Menks, and Bulls.

No matter how many restaurants I opened, Max would always stop by to eat and say hello at least once. When I would make my way to the table to say hello, I was greeted with that same smile and sense of humor that I remembered as a child on Christmas day. It was always so exciting when he walked in the door. We would all jump on the couch and beg Max to lift us up because we thought he "was the strongest man in the world". My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
