Karen, our sincerest condolences to you and the family on Jim’s passing. Jim leaves behind many, many great things, the best being you, the boys and the grandchildren that his world revolved on in addition to many, many true to life friends. A true man, true husband, true father, true grandfather, true brother and true friend. May the good Lord give you and the family the strength to make it through the abysmal valley that you are in and may you all rise to see Jim again; Godspeed Jim. Love you brother.

Karen, I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing but I am eternally grateful, that I was able to see the two of you a few years ago at the Oxbow Inn and catch up. I have many wonderful memories of working with Jim at LCSO in the 70's and 80's. He could always make you smile, even under the worst of circumstances. I will always remember laughing with Jim after he discovered that I knew where Tryon was. During the fall of 1972, I worked in Myrtle Beach and traveled through Tryon to Ashville weekly for nearly six months. Jim told the story about how the biggest event in the history of Tryon was when the Goodyear Blimp flew over. He would tell with animation that only Jim Roach had, how everyone in town was running around asking, "Did you see the blimp, did you see the blimp?" I sit here smiling with tears in my eyes as I write these words of joy. My life was truly enriched by knowing Jim, and I will never forget him. Our prayers are with you and your family. With all our love. Bill & Tracey Weaver

I am very sorry that, given the chance to reunite this last year, we were unable to connect. Jim was the first guy I ever rode with as a young rookie on the Sheriff's Department in 1975. We worked together for several years and spent many a breakfast at the old Cabover Diner. Sorry for the loss, he will be missed.

Please accept my condolences and some encouragement from God’s Word.
The Bible makes it clear that God did not originally intend for humans to die. Due to Adam and Eve’s action we have inherited sin and death. – Genesis 1:28; 2:15-17; 3:19; Romans 5:12.
All was not lost. Jesus Christ said: “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” – John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15.
Not long after saying this, Jesus resurrected a widow’s only son, later, a twelve-year-old girl, and Jesus’ own friend Lazarus. By his miracles, Jesus showed on a small scale what will take place on earth under God’s Kingdom. – Luke 7:11-17; 8:40-56; John 11:11-44.
When the enemy death strikes, grief can be much, but as we draw close to God the Bible promises that “he will sustain you.” – Psalm 55:22.
I do hope these words give some comfort.
