Obituary for: Gertie Mae Jones Gertie Mae Jones, age 89, of LaBelle, passed away September 7, 2014 in her home surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was born Oct. 20, 1924, in Okeechobee, FL, to Claudie and Nero (Williams) Tyner. She married Stanley Jones in 1942; he survives. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her entire family and her friends. Survivors include her loving husband: Stanley Jones, three sons: Howard and wife Sharon Jones, Lloyd and wife Mae Jones, Robert Jones and three daughters: Hazel White, Linda and husband Brad McCormick, Paula and husband Henry Laka, fifteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, and four great-great Grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, LaBelle with Pastor Howie Grimm, officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 hour prior to service at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, LaBelle, FL. Cremation arrangements by Akin-Davis Funeral Home - LaBelle.
