She was born July 15, 1921 in Hamilton, AL, the daughter of the late James Luther Simmons and the late Lela Frances (Kerr) Simmons. She was a wonderful Christian, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend. A resident of LaBelle since 1958, Louise was a member of First Christian Church and American Legion Post #130 Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include her son: Henry E. Kennington Jr. (Suzy) of LaBelle, daughters: Ellen Glass of Ocala, Linda Henderson (Meredith) of Walterboro, SC, Judi Kennington-Korf (Scott) of LaBelle, brother: Bill Simmons (Bonnie) of Alabaster, AL, grandchildren, Melody, Bradley, Jarrod, Katie Joey, Kevin, Holly and Michael and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Kennington Sr. in July, 1978. Her life was celebrated Mon. June 7, 2010, 10:00 am at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, 560 E. Hickpochee Ave., LaBelle with Pastor W. T. Maddox Jr. officiating. Interment followed in Fort Denaud Cemetery, LaBelle. . Arrangements by Akin-Davis Funeral Home - LaBelle.
