Please accept my condolences and some encouragement from God’s Word.
The Bible makes it clear that God did not originally intend for humans to die. Due to Adam and Eve’s action we have inherited sin and death. – Genesis 1:28; 2:15-17; 3:19; Romans 5:12.
All was not lost. Jesus Christ said: “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” – John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15.
Not long after saying this, Jesus resurrected a widow’s only son, later, a twelve-year-old girl, and Jesus’ own friend Lazarus. By his miracles, Jesus showed on a small scale what will take place on earth under God’s Kingdom. – Luke 7:11-17; 8:40-56; John 11:11-44.
When the enemy death strikes, grief can be much, but as we draw close to God the Bible promises that “he will sustain you.” – Psalm 55:22.
I do hope these words give some comfort.

* Moderator moved to Your Actions *Here is a copy of the letter sent to Angela Watkinson and our local conuliclors, Dear ,I am sure you are aware of the level of opposition to the developement of the old Harold Wood Hospital Site by Countryside Properties and for the first time in my life I feel the need to write to express my heartfelt dismay at the proposed plans. As a long term resident of Harold Wood I must say that the proposed conurbation that is presented as an acceptable proposal completely contravenes the character and personality of the surrounding area. The local infrastructure of the area will of course be stretched to breaking point by the addition of the 874 dwellings that the developer intends to build and the local amenities will definately be unable to cope. The developer speaks of research, investigations and studies which demonstrates that these fears are unfounded however there is no resident of Harold Wood with a modicum of intellect who believes these claims. One only has to witness the local roads struggling to cope with the morning rush hour traffic or wait the two weeks it takes to obtain a Doctors appointment to understand the the statistical analysis that is being presented as proof of the developers research is spurious at best. The level of opposition to these plans is rising and I expect that the local council and yourself can expect to receive many similar communications to this one. I just hope that the voice of the local community will not be ignored. One would ask that the council to reconsider the nature of this developement and the developer encouraged to build houses which are more in keeping with the character of the area rather than simply try to maximise profits by cramming as many individual flats into the area as possible. I would also hope to see investment in the local roads and support services for the increased number of residents. As a previous employee in the building industry I am well aware of the methods employed to squeeze the maximum number of houses into the smallest possible area. Flats and high rise blocks passed off as luxury accomodation to attract the foolhardy. I would summarise by saying that my family and I are completely opposed to these proposals and I would welcome your comments as to how you intend to support your local community in opposing this developement. I'm concerned that the local community will be ignored these individuals must take a stand on this one. if they don't then it is up to us to take action to ensure these plans don't go ahead.
