Obituary of Rachel Renee Tufnell

Our mother, Rachel Renee Tufnell, passed away on March 7th, 2024. She was born on June 8th, 1974 in Dearborn Heights, Michigan to Robert and Cindy Tufnell. She later relocated to Ft Myers, Florida where she attended Riverdale Highschool. She is survived by her daughters; Taylor Quick (Joshua Quick), Kelsey Barnett, and Madison Barnett; granddaughters; Annabelle White and Leighton Quick; ex husband Shane Barnett; mother Cindy Tufnell; and life partner Cody Jenkins. She is predeceased by her father, Robert Tufnell; and grandmother Jane Rosemary.

Words can not describe how immensely she will be missed. She was a force to be reckoned with and one of a kind. She loved her daughters and granddaughters more than life itself. Rachel spent most of her adult life staying home and ensuring her daughters had everything they needed. She loved children and often baby sat for her friends and family. She became known as the neighborhood mom, taking in anyone who needed extra love. Her hobbies included reading, cooking, and collecting Mickey and Nightmare Before Christmas trinkets. She loved celebrating loved ones birthdays, almost as much as she loved celebrating her own. She loved Halloween and horror movies. She was also a proud Detroit Lions fan. Rachel was supportive, loyal, and kind hearted. Anyone who knew her is truly blessed to have been touched by such a beautiful woman, inside and out. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 22nd, 2024 at Akin Davis Funeral Home on 80 at 5pm. Flowers or donations may be sent to 13932 Palm Beach Blvd, Ft. Myers, FL.
