Obituary of Earle Davies Wilson, Jr

Earle Davies Wilson, Jr age 78 of LaBelle, Florida passed away on January 6, 2024, in Fort Myers, Florida. Earle was born in LaGrange, Georgia on July 25, 1945, to the late Earle Davies and the late Hazel Jones Wilson. Earle proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from November 1965 to November 1971, obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He worked as a corrections officer for the state State of Florida for many years after the serving in the military, retiring in 2010. He married Nancy D. Minimi in Sunrise, Florida on July 10, 1982. Earle and Nancy were members of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in LaBelle. Earle enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything to do with the outdoors. Earle was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed by everyone who loved and knew him. Earle leaves fond memories with his loving wife; Nancy Wilson of LaBelle, Florida, his children; Alvie McAvoy and her husband Chris and Earle Davies Wilson, III and his wife Alexandra along with two adorable grandchildren; Molly and Emma, Earle also leaves fond memories with his sister Susan Williams and her husband Michael. He was pre-deceased by his brother Fredrick Wilson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with burial immediately following in Fort Denaud Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the United States Marine Corps. Visitation will be Monday, January 15, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at Akin-Davis Funeral Home - LaBelle.
