Obituary of Nancy Teresa Kiely

Nancy Teresa Kiely (Kavanagh), born on October 13, 1930 in Dublin, Ireland, peacefully passed away on December 26, 2023, at the age of 93 in Ft Myers, Florida.

She married her loving husband Patrick Kiely, also of Dublin, in 1953. Nancy was known for her gift of gab and her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. She could entertain people for hours with her stories. She had a great sense of humor and was always up for some good Irish Craic. She had a naturally sunny disposition. She was an eternal optimist and always saw the good in people. She believed that any problem could be solved with a quick prayer to Saint Anthony.

In her free time, Nancy enjoyed the art of knitting and decorating, and creating beautiful pieces with her skilled hands. Her talent for knitting brought joy to those around her.

Nancy is survived by her loving sons Brian Kiely and spouse Marie of Portsmouth, NH, and John Kiely of Ft Myers, Florida, her Daughter-in-Laws Dawn Kiely of Cape Coral, FL and Stephanie Kiely of Colorado Springs, CO, her sister Esther Kiernan of Dublin, Ireland, her grandchildren Patrick Kiely of Avon, Colorado, Tara Kiely and partner Curtis of Cape Coral FL, James Ray of Ft Myers, Bridget Foerster and spouse Brian of New Jersey, Aislyn Kiely of Ft Myers, Rebecca Johnson of Payton CO. Jeffrey Fernadez of Denver Co, and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren Samantha, Curtis, Emily, Brian, Lauren, Charlotte and Madison.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved spouse Patrick Kiely, her son Derek Kiely, her sisters Molly Owens, Eileen Parker, and Rosaleen Roessler, and her grandson Benjamin Paolino.

Akin Davis Funeral Home, located at 13932 Palm Beach Blvd., Ft Myers, FL 33905, will be assisting with the arrangements. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Funeral Home on January 12, 2024 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Judes Childrens Hospital.

Nancy will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
