Obituary of Bertha M. Saumell

Bertha E. Saumell a resident of Clewiston, Fl. Since 1962, passed away on July 2, 2023. She was born in Camaguey, Cuba on November 22, 1928. She retired in 1999 from Okeelanta Sugar Corporation after working in the sugar industry since 1964. She was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Clewiston. She is survived by her loving family; daughter Rita S. (Curt) Thompson of Clewiston; granddaughter Rita Jane (Joe) Foote of Clewiston; grandson Curtis A. Thompson IV. Of Clewiston; great granddaughters Allie, Joey and Nikki Foote of Clewiston; Niece Lilyan Martinez and a nephew Manuel Quintana of Key Biscayne. She was preceded in death by her husband Jorge Saumell, parents Manuel and Amparo Quintana and a brother Manuel Quintana. Christian Mass at St. Margarets Catholic Church in Clewiston on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow to Caballero Rivero Woodlawn North Cemetery in Miami. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Clewiston.
