Michael Daugherty

Obituary of Michael Daugherty

November 11, 1957 — August 28, 2021

Michael (Mikey/Mike) Daugherty, 63, of LeHigh Acres, FL. Mike was a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Overall family man, Brother, Friend, Salesman and accomplished Entrepreneur. Mike took his last breath on Saturday, August 28th, 2021.

Mike is survived by his wife Sara Daugherty that he married for the first time on November 26, 2002 in Minnesota. He is also survived by his loving family of; his sister Judith Stuhl; His children: Kimberly (Kim) Folik (Bryan); Patricia (Patti) Castanon (Gerald); Brianna (Bri) Braaten (Bjorn), Aaron (AJ) Gribble; Christopher Daugherty; and Gennifer (Genna) Finley. Grand Children: Colin (Liz), Brandon, Adrian, Connor, Madelyn (Maddy), Kiera, Tyler, McKenzie, Evan, Alexander, Fay, and Ryker. Mike was preceded in death by parents (Father) Melvin C and (Mother) Opal Daugherty

If Grandpa Mikey wasn’t at work, he would be found spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren. He took extreme pride in everything he did, especially his family. Nothing was too much for him to tackle; if he didn’t know how to succeed at something, he would find someone that did or train/educate himself. Although his military career was cut short due to an injury, he was very proud of the time he spent enlisted as a Marine as it helped shape him into the man he was. Mike was an Entrepreneur at heart. He never worked a “typical” 9-5 job as both his dreams and personality were bigger than life and couldn’t be contained. He was determined to help everyone he could to live their best lives. He would literally give the shirt off his back, the last dollar out of his pocket or the last meal in his fridge to any person (or animal) in need.

Grandpa Mikey will forever be missed for his crazy stories, silly voices or songs that would make you smile and laugh no matter what was going on. He was larger than life with a laugh that could fill any room, and a hug that could swallow you up and make everything okay. While he had an opinion and story about everything (and yes, we do mean everything!) He was quick to share all his knowledge with anyone willing to listen and advice to anyone in need. Mike lived every day to the fullest and he left this world with a family that loves him and will miss him dearly.

We don’t lose our loved ones when they die, we gain a guardian Angel.
