Obituary of William Henry Landress

William “Bill” Henry Landress of North Fort Myers passed away May 23, 2021, at the age of 90.

 

One of eight children born in Rome, Georgia to William Robert and Mary Bell on July 18, 1930.

 

 He leaves behind his beloved wife of 71 years, Wilma, his son William E. “Slim” Landress (Jeannie) of Georgetown, Georgia, his daughters Mona Sturrup (Randy) of Arcadia, Debra Wood (Ronnie) of North Fort Myers, and Teresa Mann (Timothy) of Buckingham, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

 

He was a Sergeant in the United States Army, serving in the 11th Airborne Division, receiving his Honorable Discharge in September 1951.

 

He was the Owner/Operator of a local pest control company for 35 years.

 

Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a friend to many. He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, gardening, and handcrafting leather goods.  One of his favorite past times in his earlier years was playing guitar and singing country songs.

 

Celebration of Bill’s life will be a private family service being handled by Akin-Davis Funeral Home - Fort Myers Chapel.
