Obituary for Austin Cordell Stem Austin Cordell Stem, age 42 of LaBelle, FL passed away November 7, 2010. Austin was born September 20, 1968 in Newport, California and was raised in LaBelle, FL. Austin worked alongside his father, Tom Stem and brother, Jason Stem while farming in Immokalee, FL. He enlisted and served in the United States Army and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division stationed in West Germany. Austin was a proud and patriotic American citizen. Austin leaves behind to cherish his memory his immediate family, wife; Ruby Earline and children; Haley, Thayer and Ragan, father and mother; Tom and Vicki Stem, younger brother; Jason Stem, grandmother; Betty Tippett, aunts Susan Fisk and Carol Stem, uncles; Nick Fisk and Skip Stem. Austin was a dedicated father who always found the time to coach softball, swing his daughter in the back yard or play a computer game with his son. Austin could play "dress-up" with the girls as comfortably as take Thayer hunting. He was totally dedicated to his children. Austin was a young man who loved good food and good times and he will forever live in the hearts of those of us who were privileged to have shared some of his life with him. He was a knowledgeable young man both on current and past events and was quick to engage you and in debate and give his passionate opinions. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to a college account be made for the education of his children. The fund has been established at Florida Community Bank in LaBelle, Florida. Viewing will be Friday November 12, 2010 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Akin Davis Funeral Home in LaBelle. Services will be held Saturday morning beginning 10 AM at Carlson Memorial Methodist Church in LaBelle with burial afterward at Fort Denaud Cemetery, Fort Denaud, FL.
