She was born May 9, 1922 in Boca Raton, the daughter of the late Hugo D. and the late Margaret Aileen (Campbell) Merriam. Muriel was a charter member of Lake Harbor Community Methodist Church. She worked for many years as owner/operator of Bailey's Grocery. She was a resident of Clewiston for the past 30 years. Muriel also was a Pink Lady at Hendry Regional Medical Center for twenty-five years. Survivors include her daughter: Margaret A. Barber and husband Ronald of Clewiston, daughter in law: Davene Bailey of Rentz, GA, grandchildren: Justin Barber; Marshall Barber; Marcy Jones and Seth Bailey, eight great-grandchildren and nephew, Wayne Davis of Port Saint Lucie. Funeral services were held Sun. November 15, 2009 at Lake Harbor Community Methodist Church, Lake Harbor with Reverend Rod Ruby officiating. Interment followed in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clewiston.
