Obituary of Robert Smith Moore

Obituary for: Robert Smith Moore, Jr. Robert Smith Moore, Jr., age 61, of Lehigh Acres, passed away May 5, 2013 in Fort Myers. He was born Jan. 7, 1952 in Grayson County, VA, to the late Robert Smith Moore, Sr. and the late Mary Jane (Alford) Moore. He served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force. He resided in Lehigh Acres for the past 21 years and was a former resident of Lexington, NC. Robert served for many years as Chaplain for American Legion Post #323 in Lehigh Acres. He also was a Chaplain for Hope Healthcare Services for 21 years and served many families in their time of need. Robert was a member of McGregor Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife: Charlotte Moore, sons: Robert (Jennifer) Moore and Jason Moore brothers: Terry (Terri) Moore, Michael (Shirley) Moore and Greg (Debbie) Moore, sister: Lynn (Larry) Barker, grandchildren: Joseph, Ethan, Noah and grandchildren: Evan, Miles and their mother: Sarah Moore. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Clark Moore. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11:00 am at McGregor Baptist Church, 3750 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers with Dr. Dan Allen and Rev. Sherrill Tillery officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 until service time at McGregor Baptist Church. The graveside committal will be Friday, May 10, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Memorial Park, Lexington, NC. Internment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Davidson Funeral Home, 301 North Main St, Lexington, NC, Memorial Contributions can be made to Hope Healthcare Services, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33907.
