He was born Oct. 25, 1934 in White Plains, AL, the son of the late Thomas Green Atkisson and the late Elsie (Dowdy) Atkisson. He served in the Air Force. Survivors include his wife: Cleo Estelle(Taylor) Atkisson, son: Daniel Franklin Atkisson Jr. (Angel) of LaBelle, brothers: Paul Atkisson of Alexander City, AL, G.T. Atkisson of White Plains, AL, sister: Ruthie Roberson of Alexander City, AL, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A private family memorial will be held at a later time.
