Obituary of Lester E. Sullivan

Obituary for: Lester E. Sullivan (Gene) Lester Eugene (Gene) Sullivan, age 77 of Clewiston, Florida and HIghlands, NC. passed away April 17, 2010 in Clewiston, Florida. He was born Oct. 21, 1932 in Ocala, Florida the son of the late George and Marie (Townsend) Sullivan. He graduated from Ocala High School in Ocala, Florida. He then served in the United Stated Navy. After the Navy he then embarked on a 43 year career with U.S. Sugar Corporation and retired in 1993. He was a Thirty-Second Degree Scottish Rite Master Mason of The Masonic Lodge as well as a member of The Eastern Star. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Moore Haven, Florida and he also attended First Baptist Church in Highlands, North Carolina. Gene will be remember as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Gene loved to travel, visiting all 50 states, as well as several countries. Gene enjoyed helping and spending time with friends and family. Survivors include his wife: Betty (Baldwin) Sullivan, one son: Vernon Sullivan of Clewiston, Florida and four daughters: Patty Mitten of Tampa, Florida, Patsy Davis and Debra Mullis of Clewiston, Florida, Janice Busbee and one brother: Terry (Sharon) Loyd and one sister Shirley(George) McErchin both of Ocala, Florida and 5 Stepchildren: Step-son, Nicholas Potts and Step-Daughter Vicki Rhodes of Franklin, North Carolina; Step-Son, Timothy Potts and Step-Daughter Lisa Rudd of Clewiston, Florida; Step-Daughter, Trisha Johns of Bonifay, Florida and grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation was Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in Akin-Davis Funeral Home, Clewiston, FL. Funeral services were held Wed. April 21, 2010 at 11:00 am in First Baptist Church Of Moore Haven, Florida with Reverend Sherrill Tillery officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites was in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clewiston.
