Obituary of Armando L. Herrera

On December 26, 2020 Loving Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather Armando Herrera passed away at the age of 77, in his home surrounded by family. He was born June 09,1943 in Alamo, Texas, to the late HIpolito and the late Margarita Herrera. He graduated from Clewiston High School in 1962 where he participated in Track and Football. Armando was married to the love of his life Domistela Rios Herrera for 49 years. He worked as a Farm Crew Leader along his mother’s side, Margarita Herrera, until her passing in 1986.Soon after he worked for Okeelanta Cooperation for 27 years and retired in 2008.Armando served at Saint Margaret’s Catholic Church where he enjoyed playing his accordion during mass every Sunday and at church events. The Accordion was his passion! Armando loved spending time with family, dancing, attending greyhound racing, football games and socializing with many in our community of Clewiston known as “America’s Sweetest Town.” He will always be remembered by “El Senor de la Acordeon” The man of the Accordion. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Armando is survived by his loving and devoted wife; Domistela Herrera, children; Armando Herrera Jr.(Mary) and family, Albert Herrera(Cherly) and family, Margarita Pruitt(Terry) and family, Daniel Herrera (Melissa) and family, along with Janette Rosado(Jose) and family, and seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and many close family friends.
