Carole McCleery

Obituary of Carole McCleery

At this time heaven gained a most spirited God fearing Christian. Carole Miller Oglesby went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her girls on May 14, 2017 in Venice. Carole taught herself to play piano at the age of 12 thru the hymnals at church. During her teenage years she, Anna Clinard and Cybil Manning were a musical gospel trio on WSUG here in town. Carole was blessed to be given 3 beautiful little girls. She loved her girls with all her being. All she ever wanted to be was a good mother and a good Christian. In 1981 she was in a car accident where she died twice, lost her leg, spent 11 months in the hospital and had 29 surgeries but the lord wasn't done with her yet. The doctors said she'd never walk again. Thru many struggles she carried on her journey and proved she could walk again. After her girls were grown she decided to make it official and became a minister and wrote a book of her testimony. She took her ministry all over the US and the World. She never met a stranger and so many referred to her as Momma as she drew people to God thru her testimony. Sister Carole has left behind her daughters Elizabeth, Cynthia and Christina as well as 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Bobbie Jean Miller, nephews; David, Danny, Rick Miller, Rock Haataga and Bryce Miller. Matthew 5:4 reads Blessed are those that are pure at heart for they shall see God. We believe that scripture explains Sister Carole perfectly. She was loved and will be missed.

Celebration of Carole's life will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Akin-Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
